History of Artificial intelligence:

The journey of AI started in 1950s when the curious mind of Alan Turing tried to determine if a computer could mimic human mind. After that, AI got momentum in 1960s when the first AI programming language LISP was developed by John McCarthy. Earlier, AI was focused on symbolic reasoning and rules based systems that led to expert systems in 1970 and 80s.
Then in 1990s, AI made a shift in focus to machine learning and data driven approaches. This shift led the AI systems to keep the memory of data and use it for better performance and adaptability.

Stages of AI development
AI is still in its evolution process. It is constantly evolving from one stage to another advance level. Therefore, based on the type and complexity of the tasks an AI system is able to perform, AI has been categorized into four types. You may call them as steps of evolution process of AI.

Reactive machines:
Unlike reactive machines, limited memory AI is capable of storing information in the form of memory. It looks into that data in the memory for clues on what may come next. Based on that stored information, it is capable of making informed decisions. For this purpose, a team continuously trains a model in how to analyze and utilize the new data. Sometimes, an AI environment is built so that madels can be renewed and trained automatically.
Theory of mind:
The earlier two stages of AI have been achieved but the last two stages are more theoretical as of now. And they are yet to be achieved. This stage of AI means that AI machines could understand how other humans, animals and,vmachines feel and make decisions through self reflection and determination.It is the point of making machines understand that other living things have thoughts and emotions that effect the behaviour of one’s self.
